Lumora Fiction is a dedicated platform for writing, sharing, and reading stories: a sister project to
Lumora Press with the same shared-hosting philosophy. It is a server-rendered PHP application with a
browser-based installer, so there is no SSH, Composer, or Node.js to deal with.
Administrators choose whether the archive hosts fanfiction, original fiction, or both, who may register, and
how new writers are moderated.
For writers
- Stories with chapters, covers, author profiles, and classification lists (fandoms, genres, tags,
ratings, warnings).
- A Visual, Markdown, HTML or plain text chapter editor with a live word count.
- Separate Save draft and Publish buttons, draft previews, chapter version history, and an approval
queue for moderated archives.
For readers
- Browse new, updated and completed stories, with indexes by fandom, genre, tag, rating and
warning.
- Search with filters for classification, status, language and length.
- Bookmarks, followed stories, reading progress, and personal colour, text size and width
settings.
- Stories can be downloaded as EPUB, PDF or HTML.
For administrators
- Users, news, themes, plugins, and a single alerts screen for site problems.
- One-click updates from GitHub with automatic backups and rollback, plus on-demand backups and a
scheduled maintenance mode.
- Throttled sign-in, expiring password reset links, and anti-spam on registration forms.
Requires PHP 8.2–8.5 (8.5 recommended), MySQL 5.6.4+ or MariaDB 10.0.5+, and Apache with
mod_rewrite.
